Back to Blogging? Again?
Geez, this is harder than it should be. The fractures in social media definitely make me want to go back to the journal, and I am going to try!
Life has been darn near as fractured as social media. I'll spare you the complaints. But let's see what I can do here.
In the meantime, have a cat.

It's the Big Year-End Wrap-Up!
Should there be a Kermit flail here?
Well. This year was much like last year, but maybe a tad better.
My business barely managed to stay out of the red this year.
I have a shiny new laser engraver/cutter, and am looking forward to doing a lot of cool things with it next year.
I did three cons this year. I was a guest at SoonerCon, attended ArmadilloCon and put some stuff in the Art Show, and helped run ...

Facebook, It Hurts When I Do This!
You know the old joke:
Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I do this.
Doctor: Then don't DO that!
Only I don't know what I did. Facebook restricted my account for six hours because my "account activity didn't follow community standards." What did I do? I posted my Wordle score. That was my sole post since yesterday's Wordle post. No, I posted a couple of birthday wishes. Since when is "Happy Birthday!" against community standards. O...

Plodding and Plotting
Yes, I am plodding on a plot!
I have a couple of very stalled novels. I get an epiphany on one, work on it, then the well goes dry. Or more to the point, something happens that needs my attention. Now.
We're not talking ADHD. We're talking about my life of jumping from one crisis to the next. I have responsibilities, and there are people who abdicate theirs and drop them in my lap. And when there are things like contractual obligations involved, ...

Wednesday!
Guess I'm back for more today!
The craptastic thing on my radar has a date attached to it now, which is sort of a relief. Now I can make other plans and work on things.
November is an odd month. I kind of wrote about that yesterday. Typically, November and December are my slow months, and I'm kind of fine with that. This is usually when Paul uses up the last of his vacation days, plugging them in here and there to fill out spots in the rest of the year...

Back in the Saddle?
Yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it?
I need to get back into some sort of writing routine, so here I am. Why yes, it is November, and no, I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. Why not? November always brings some craptastic event that grinds my creative life to a halt. Why bother?
There was the year a elderly relative fell. We had to drop everything for a couple of weeks. Not conducive to writing. Then there was the year I got sick. And the year my mom passed at the...

What's goin' on in the clean world?
It's not quite that dire, but it's been crazy here, as usual.
I really, really need to better keep up with this space. The best ways to follow are on Facebook and Twitter until I get this all going again.
So, what *has* been going on? SoonerCon was great. There was also FenCon in September, which was a challenge. Lots of things I can't talk about, but if you were there or follow the con you now that our sleeping rooms got double booked and controlled c...

The Week of Education
Just a reminder (not that I post here as often as I should) that I'm taking my Spring Week of Education and will be generally unavailable.
How am I spending the week?
Both Paul and I are attending the Microsoft Build Conference, virtually. It doesn't start for a bit today as they're on Pacific Time.
Before the conference started yesterday, we went out for His and Hers booster shots. How romantic. In sickness and health, i...

Monday Mumblings Has a Sinus Explosion
It's a no-pollen day here, but my sinuses are calling fake news.
You read the first part right. A zero pollen day in North Texas. There's still a fairly significant fungus count, which is probably the thing that's making the sinuses go crazy. I shall spare you the description of the crazy. You're welcome.
Had a good - if kind of crazy - weekend. Paul took Friday off (so no entry here) and we took Daenerys to the vet for a med checkup. She's proba...

The Year of Saying "No"
This is difficult to write, so I'll just jump into it.
I am exhausted. I am overwhelmed.
This started before the pandemic, and now that we're (maybe) finally looking at a return to something approaching normal, I can work on getting things together.
I've let people run over me for too long, and it's going to stop. Now. I'm no longer going to be the dumping ground for people who need the time to get their hair done, have a...
