Monday Mumblings

I promised I'd do an entry, and here it is. It shall be short.

Yes, I need to take care of myself, but the night cold meds are starting to kick in and I should let them do their job.

Last night was the pits. I made the mistake of not taking the meds. My fever was down and I thought it would be a good idea to take a night off.

Bad move. By the time I finally got to sleep in a horizontal position it was 4:30, which meant time for Midnight to launch into her gift-giving routine. I can set the clock by that cat. Paul pushed her off the bed and she dug her claws in and took my side of the bedspread with her. I woke with a start and screamed - such as I could with a sore throat. So much for sleeping.

I finally dragged myself out of bed before 10 and heated up some coffee. Yum.

So yes, I have learned my lesson and I have taken a full dose of cold meds tonight. Usually half a dose does the job, but I'm not taking any chances.

My cunning plan was to do a whole lot of nothing today, but when I stated that it had completely slipped my mind that Monday is laundry day.

And then I had the idea on the Monday Photo shoot (detailed in the next entry). Now that I have that clock out of the closet and mostly running, I might try to see if I can get the rest going. The light was easy. All of the digits except the hour work. I'll bet it's something fairly simple. The other thing I'll need to do is drill some vent holes in the rear. Someone replaced the back panel, but the first thing I noticed after I changed the bulb was that it got hot. I think some vent holes will fix that. It also has a crack along the top, which you can sort of see in the picture. It's very repairable. That might be a fun project that isn't work.

And yes, one thing I did NOT do today was work. I'm waiting to hear back from some people on the things I did over the weekend, and I suspect it will take them some time before they're able to respond.

So, perhaps, tomorrow I can rest and tinker.

We all know what happens to cunning plans.
