Fresh (almost) daily from Julie Barrett

Yes, it's the end of the week, and I'm busy as all get out. Lots of work for the Friday client (money!) and lots of extra laundry today. The heat continues to oppress, but it's moderated just a bit this afternoon with a little rain in the area. Of course, the wet stuff is everywhere but here!

The big weekend project is Chris' room. Oh, he's hating that, but it has to be done. This is the typical mother-kid showdown: I need to be able to get into his room with laundry, to change the sheets, etc. There is no room to move for the crap. We had the ant crisis a couple of weeks ago, and I don't want a repeat. Sorry, kid, but it boils down to health wins. I'm not the best housekeeper and I don't expect his room to be neat as a pin, but I don't want to have to fight the ants again. This means tossing trash at the very, very least. I pulled out a bunch of empty pop cans and water bottles today. That's what attracts the ants.

The Wikipedia issue is getting interesting again. I found what I hoped was a good cite, and now there's a massive discussion about it. That's okay; it hasn't devolved into personal attacks. But then, the person who resorts to that most often hasn't checked in yet. It could get interesting tonight.

Weight loss update: 13 pounds, same as last week. But I'm still getting rid of the monthly bloat. Next Friday should be interesting.

Went to coffee this morning for the first time in a while. The one of our group that lives in France got home just before all you-know-what broke loose in London. I have a feeling if that had happened a day earlier she would still be here. I'm glad she got home safely.

Just checked the radar. The temp on the west side of town has dropped eight degrees and it looks like the rain *may* be headed this way. I'm not going to get optimistic, but this sounds like a good time to go shoot some clouds.

Feline Friday is next. Have a good weekend, and thanks for dropping by!
