Monday mumblings

Fresh (almost) daily from Julie Barrett

Oh, sigh. I had this incredibly long entry that seems to have been eaten by the Internet gods. There is no such thing, but I do wonder on days like this.

Oh, it was mostly a morose rambling about the state of education. Read the new lead article in Newsweek and you'll see what's got me so depressed.

There. Most of the entry in a nutshell.

Except to say that it rained yesterday: The nice, soaking rain that is good for the grass and the foundation, but not nearly enough to put a dent in the drought. Oh, no. We may need rains of Biblical proportions for that to happen. At least this puts a damper on the fire danger, so to speak.

Okay, I've got a picture to post, and then it's off to work. And laundry. The Friday cycle repeats on Monday. Oh, joy.
