It's Been A Long Week

Lots of catching up to do this week. The cunning plan had been to relax a bit, but that's not happening. At least the level of stuff to do this week hasn't been overbearing.

Nope, not complaining. I'll get my chance to kick back and relax soon enough, whether I want it or not.

Actually, I was partially out of commission yesterday. File this under "Idiocy." I went bowling yesterday morning. The very first time I stepped up on the approach one of my shoes stuck and I landed on the lane past the foul line on my hands and knees. Only my pride was hurt, or so I thought until the second game when my right shoulder started to ache like mad. I bowed out for the third game, took it sorta easy yesterday (no hard phyiscal work) and then sat back and watched during last night's league.

I think I'm going to be fine. I just kind of jarred things up a bit. I just thought it would be a good idea not to throw a 14-pound ball around last night.

Then the storms hit. You may have heard about the high winds and heavy rain that moved through last night. Or not. The sirens went off, and the central part of town did suffer a lot of tree damage. Remind me not to plant a Bradford Pear tree. The worst damage here was a few twigs blown off of a couple of trees. Considering past storm damage around here, I'm counting my blessings.

Paul has been working from home today. After a nasty commute to work in the rain he arrived at his office to find the power out. So he brought his laptop home and worked from here.

We've had rain on and off today, and it looks like more is brewing to the west. The doorbell rang during one downpour this morning and Chris opened it to meet a drenched letter carrier. There was a letter-size flat parcel that wouldn't fit in the mailbox. I appreciated her bringing it up to the door. I know it was her job, but the weather was lousy. The flat contained Chris' acceptance letter from UTD and a packet of items.

Yes, Chris is now officially a university student.

It's pushing time to start cooking dinner, so I'd better run. I'll try and catch up on more things tomorrow. I have several blog topics in mind, but no time to write them.

So, what's going on with you?
