Monday Mumblings
Fresh (almost) daily from
Julie Barrett
So, was this a holiday weekend? Could have fooled me.
I suppose
the fact that the menfolk spent the day at home should have been a dead
giveaway, but I've spent most of the weekend toiling over a hot
computer. In a hot house. Rain and cooler temps are on the way, though.
We expect the remnants of the hurricane to slide into the area tomorrow.
At
least I got laundry out of the way and won't have to dry items outdoors
tomorrow. Oh, yes: the dryer broke today. I suspect the belt, but no
one felt like digging into it, so I spread the last load out - parts of
it on shower rods inside and parts outdoors. It was either that or
spend an hour at the coin-op laundry. I think the temperatures were
marginally better here. Besides, I had work to do.
Got the work
nearly finished, but gave up earlier tonight when the remote SQL server
burned down, fell over, and sank into the swamp. At least that's what I
presume happened. Given all the other web server issues this weekend, I
would be unsurprised.
So, what's happening in the rest of the
world? Plenty, but I'm too tired to comment in a coherent manner. I
suppose that means I should go to bed.
