I ache, therefore I am! With bonus craft room musings!

But it's a good ache. Yesterday I actually finished the desk area! Today's task was more challenging. Can anything be more challenging than the desk? Yep, it's the back bedroom.

To be fair, it's in pretty decent shape. We did a lot of purging and reorganizing last year when we had new carpet put in. The only problem is that Daenerys loves the new carpet. Perhaps a bit too much. I pulled the bed apart to turn the mattress today and discovered she had left a number of "gifts" under the bed. Eeww. It's something I don't see unless I tear the bed down. I'd already thought about moving the bed over about six inches, so that became today's job. Along with getting the carpet clean.

It's mostly done. I'm waiting on a cat "scat mat" that I'm going to put in the most inaccessible (to humans) spot under the bed, and hope it works. There will still be plenty of room for cats to hide if they wish. It will just make it easier for me to detect and deal with "gifts." I ain't getting any younger.

Getting the carpet clean was tough. I had to work for a bit, then take a break. Rinse, repeat. I finally got the last thing that I can do taken care of about half an hour ago. There will be a little bit in the morning, but it shouldn't take long. I plan to take it easy tomorrow as we bowl on Wednesday evenings and tomorrow is position round. We'll be short one bowler with Paul out of town, so I ought to make sure I'm in decent shape to throw the ball.

(Position round is when the first place team bowls the second place team, third goes up against fourth, and so on down the line. It can be a good opportunity to climb the ladder - or fall down. With us it's generally the latter. But we're not there for the big payouts. We're there for exercise and good conversation. Okay, and beer.)

While I was taking my 10-15 minute breaks today I was trolling through craft room organization videos on YouTube. Did I just feel you cringe? Yeah, there's this entire genre of perfect craft rooms. And most of them are large. I try to search for small spaces and get someone who has taken over the basement of their small house. I kept trolling, and the algorithm decided that I needed more and *finally* started to present me with "normal" craft spaces. I watched one today that was well-organized, but like me the space is small and is a mish-mash of furniture and organization tools. Old shoe boxes for the win! I don't feel intimidated by these spaces, and I'm also more likely to see some things that might work for my space. I will never have a Pinterest or Instagram perfect space, but I'm fine with that. I just want to be able to find the things that I need when I need them. I'm getting there.

It's about time for me to grab some grub so I can be ready when the mats arrive. I just hope I don't seize up between now and then. Yep, getting old sucks.
