Long Freaking Week, Plus Eye Updatery

Fresh when it gets here from Julie Barrett

Yes, the week after running a con is bad. I've had a terrible case of blonde brain, right to the point where I forgot to plug in the crock pot yesterday. But I did discover the error soon enough to go ahead and cook the food, but just not soon enough for it to be ready for dinner. Big scramble ensued. Dinner was served and eaten. We had the crock pot meal tonight (I put it in the fridge and reheated it today) and it was decent.

And if we all get salmonella poisoning overnight then we'll know I screwed up. ;-)

Today was the pre-op for my upcoming cataract surgery. Of course, they threw even MORE options at my convention-addled brain. Stuff we didn't discuss at my previous appointment. They have to order the implants on Wednesday, so at least I have a little time to make the decision. I've made what I think is a good decision, and I'll stew on it this weekend. No pressure.

Loads of fun.

So there ya go. Fun week. The good news is that none of this will keep me from OctopodiCon next weekend. When I get a final schedule I'll post it.

I'm amazed you need this so early in life! (If you're old, then I'm old, and I can't be old, so....) Scary stuff, but I've heard lots of good things from people who had it done.

Karen, my cataracts (plural, They think another is on the way) are due to high myopia. Both my eye doctor and the surgeon tell me I'm on the low end of the bell curve for getting cataracts. In other words, not common for someone my age, but not terribly unusual, either.

I've heard good things, too. But as tired as I was, coming off of our convention (and Chicon before that, and two more coming up in October), I wasn't amused with the idea of having to make yet another decision. At least it didn't have to be a snap decision.
