I'm back from the retina specialist, and the news is really good. The tear is healing very well, and it's quite possible they won't need to use a laser on it at all.
The hemmorhage is a different matter. It's going to take some time to settle out, but he's optimistic that will happen given time.
I go back in two weeks, and can start back on most normal activities tomorrow, but with a little caution. It's like the old joke: Doctor, my vision gets worse when I do this. Then don't DO that! The idea is to not stir the crud in my eye up if possible. And I'll be able to tell if that's happening.
This is really one of the best outcomes possible. I'm grateful to my doctors for making sure I knew what to expect so I could get in quickly, and also for giving me top-notch treatment. I may not be so happy when the bills come in, but that's another matter. ;-)
