Monday Mumblings

Another lovely night tossing and turning. I've tracked these bouts over the past year and it's pretty obvious that they're connected to - oh, how shall I put it? - being a "certain age." It shall all pass. Eventually.

Perhaps it's a good thing that I don't have much on the work front right now. I can nap during the day - if the phone will stop ringing. And it's only going to get worse with primaries coming up next month. Of course, we won't have much of a say in presidential candidates, at least on the Republican side. But there are plenty of other races at stake, so I won't be staying away from the polls. What kills me is that a good presidential race will bring more people out to vote. It may help the Democratic candidates, but in my county most of them will be running uncontested anyway. What it means for the Republicans is that the old guard will hang on because no one will bother to vote with the presidential race all wrapped up.

Perhaps there will be a surprise tomorrow.

Oh, yeah. Right.

I hope I remember to take the phone out of the bedroom when I attempt to nap.

I got a note yesterday stating that my camera body had shipped. Of course, neither Amazon or UPS claim to have any knowledge of the tracking number. But wait: Amazon sent me the tracking number. Oh, my brain hurts.

So, how 'bout that big game? Usually the ads engage me more than the game, but I really enjoy watching a close match that goes down to the wire. And man, was that halftime show a snooze, or what? I like Tom Petty. Really, I do. But the show seemed designed to be safe, right down to the kids born after Petty's first single was released waving the glow sticks made to look like lighters. Puh-leeze. The ghost of Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" hangs over us all.

Oh, great. Now I have to get that image out of my mind. And so have you out of yours. Sorry about that.

House was worth staying up for, however. And that last scene! I won't spoil the ending for those of you who recorded it for later viewing. Though I will say that the throwaway line about network TV was a hoot.

Must get moving. It's after 10 and I'm still in my bathrobe. Sorry, another bad image for you. Don't worry; my webcam is faced in the direction of my shelves. I do have some sense of decorum.
