Monday Mumblings Gets A Little Rest

Why yes, I finally did get to sleep in this weekend, and it felt good. I still feel like I could use some more sleep, but at least I'm functioning better.

This was one of those "one thing leads to another" kind of weekends. Saturday I ran out to one of the big box hardware stores to grab a $10 item. That short errand turned into a quest for a new propane grill. We're now the proud owners of shiny new grill. We paid more than we'd planned, but I think we'll have something that will last for a long time. I hope. Last year I made do with a new heat shield, but the entire unit just kept getting more wonky as the year dragged on. Food was charred on the outside and still not done on the inside. I love grilled food. It's healthy and it tastes great - except when it's cooked like that.

Spent part of last week cleaning the sewing area. Today the desk and the fish tank got the treatment. I have several commissions to finish and had no place to put anything. I also did a truckload of maintenance and tweaking on the embroidery machine, and so now I'm ready to get going again.

I've also been keeping up with the Month of Letters challenge. Three days to go. I think I'll make it. Hooray.

The eyes continue to improve, except today is one of those days where the swirling bit of retina (my new band name, I think) is hovering right in the center of my field of vision. So really, I couldn't do a lot more than clean.

Oh, good. The power just went out. Shutting down...
