Housekeeping
Well, that was fun. The link to the website css file just kind of fell off into the Gorge of Eternal Peril.
I think we're fixed now.
Sorry about the disruption. Carry on. ...

A Bit Of Housekeeping
Well. It seems that when I went in and tried to restore the commenting code that I completely borked a few things. I was working on them on a local copy of the journal, but I guess I moved the pages out by mistake. Sorry about that.
In penance, here's a cat picture from the archive. I think I deserve the Cone of Shame!

Back to Blogging?
I've been meaning to revive the blog, and maybe it's time. The latest news of Elon Musk buying Twitter makes me want to consolidate back to my home turf. This isn't about Musk per se, mind you. I'm just more and more frustrated with all the crap going on with social media.
But what do you do? My Facebook and YouTube channels are how I connect with potential customers, and potential income. I've made some good friends via Twitter, so I guess I'm not ready to give it up. ...

More Journal Housekeeping Stuff
Yes, I suspect only two people (if that many) might be interested in the nuts and bolts of what goes on under the virtual hood, but I need to document this to some extent.
Latest updates include a small typography change and (finally!) the ability to turn off comments to a post. Spambots love to ferret out old posts and leave comments in hopes that the blog owner won't notice. I've also noticed that when one old post gets a spam comment that it tends to get more. So, turning o...

More Updates
I keep tweaking the Journal layout. I also have a new social sharing image. We'll see if it shows up properly on Facebook.
I am also kind of determined to keep pushing new content on a regular basis, so we'll see what happens.

Welcome to the new Journal!
As no one whatsoever may have noticed, I'm making some changes to the web site. The whole thing needs a refresh, and I've updated the base color schemes.
Why yes, I *was* prompted to do this by yesterday's Facebook outage. Why do you ask?
Well, that's not entirely true. I've been thinking about this for a long time, and this blog is becoming abandoned. I don't want that to happen. I could be wrong, but it seems I was writing more when I was maint...

New Stuff in Nostalgia!
These items are from a cache of greeting cards that my Grandmother exchanged with friends around 1900. I handled these with care so you don't have to.
Enjoy! ...

New in Nostalgia
I'm going through old family files and the like for a few weeks. Today I ran across a couple of postcards of Downtown Dallas featuring Reunion Tower:

Updated Tech Museum
As I've been cleaning and going through things, I've been taking pictures and adding items to our Tech Museum. While I was at it, I did a little work on the presentation. It's still a tad clunky, but better than it had been. I've also added a sort of feed of the newest items, so if you've been there before you can cut to the chase and see what's new.
Check it out! ...

ConDFW Wrap-up, plus bonus housekeeping!
Had a grand time at ConDFW this past weekend. The panels were fun, and I made a little money at my table. Of course, I saw many old friends and made a few new ones.
I was sorry Charlaine Harris couldn't make it, but I do wish her the best. I'm sure she'd rather have been at a con than having her gallbladder out.
My one bit of "fun" happened on the way home. Someone ahead of me in a left turn lane suddenly backed up and stepped on the gas. I narrowly avoi...
