I had a great time at ConDFW. I need to do a recap. Give me a day or two or three.

Woke up this morning not feeling well at all and went back to bed after an hour or so. I finally started to move around about 1:00 and took a shower about 3:00. The worst part of it was that Paul had the day off and I didn't get to spend much time with him at all.

Both regular readers will recall my oft-repeated phrase: If I don't take some time for myself when I'm under pressure, my body will FORCE me to do it, and sometimes at the worst possible moment. Well, here ya go. Sure, I managed to make my deadlines, but missing out on a day with Paul does not make me a happy camper.

I'm going to listen to my body and take it easy for a couple of days. No, this is NOT the concrud. I felt a headache coming on Saturday, and I made the mistake of walking in the cold rain to Starbucks to get a coffee. That was what probably pushed my system over the edge. Yes, I did have a nice, large umbrella, but that didn't keep my feet dry. We had a (much needed) soaking rain, and there was standing water everywhere.

I also need a little time to process some things from the weekend. Nothing bad. In fact, I was expecting a couple of stressful moments, and they didn't materialize. That and a couple of other incidents have made me wonder if I'm spending too much time focusing on negative things. Oh, I'm not going to go all touchy-feely. Yet, I do think I'm burning up too much energy I could spend in better directions worrying about some aspects of my professional life. And perhaps a few of those aspects would be better if I just let go and didn't worry. Those topics are certainly worth pondering, and I'll be doing that as I take a couple of days to rest.

I may do the ConDFW recap tomorrow. I may not. We'll see how I feel. In case I don't, I want to thank the crew at ConDFW for a wonderful time. I also got to see some folks I hadn't seen in a while, and renewing old friendships is always a good thing. Oh, and thanks to everyone who bought something of mine in the Art Show. I appreciate your patronage.
