Home Again, Home Again
We dragged in from SoonerCon this evening. Yean, our tails are tired. We had a good time. I had a reading, sold four photographs at the art auction, herded a party, and generally didn't get a whole lot of sleep.

So I'm off to bed, with a book, of course.

More to come, I'm sure. It may ...

And Another Convention Bites The Dust
I forgot to mention this before: Twicon (they held their first event in Dallas last year) has ceased operations. According to announcement on their site, they blame the economy. And "competitive pressures."

Ticketholders have essentially been told that it' ...

How to Schmooze at a Convention
Mary Robinette Kowal has a blog post reprinted at the SFWA site: "Conventions and writing, or Schmoozing 101."

There's a fine art to schmoozing, and she's got the balance right.

Blast From The Past
Yesterday the concom at The Leap Back 2009 asked if I had anything I might be able to send to their charity auction. I'd planned on sending a book, but I thought I might be able to dig up a few more items. The book went out yesterday, but I spent ...

Home Again, Home Again
There was a reason for the blogging silence over the weekend. We went down to ArmadilloCon in Austin. The hotel wanted $10 a day PER COMPUTER for wi-fi access. We did get a sweet deal on a very nice room, so I really don't have reason to complain on that front.

I have pictures (Austin! Neon! ...

Another SF con bites the dust
(Disclaimer: I'm Programming Chair for FenCon V.)

Last month it was FedConUSA, yesterday it was Jumpcon.

My opinion? Having two high-profile media cons go down in such rapid succession hurts, but it could be worse. These were both start-up events. ...

Here we go again

Well. I had this huge post and I deleted it. It was just coming out wrong.

Long story short: FedConUSA kind of imploded over the weekend. You can go to their site, read their statement, and spend hours picking through the message boards if you're in ...

The Sweet Sound of "Done!"

Just hit the end of the audio script I've been banging my head over this week. I'll have to go through and tighten it up a bit, but it seems to work. Paul is over at his computer reading it, and I hear the occasional laugh. This is good.

Audio script, you say? Why, yes! We'll be at ...

Convention Announcement

I'll be attending The Leap Back 2009, the 20th anniversary Quantum Leap conventio set for March 27-29 of next year. They have quite an impressive guest roster shaping up, and I'm honored be part of this event.
