Tired, But Productive

Sleepless nights aren't so bad when they're productive. Last night was one such night. I was able to break through a serious plot issue on one WIP and laid out the bare bones for an audio play script.

I'm still going on about three hours of sleep, and bowling is tonight.

Bowling was good this morning. I frantically scribbled plot notes in between turns. The distraction (and a donut) kept me awake, and I shot a 202-171-204 for a 577. Not bad on a 175 average. We still lost three games, but that's the way it goes.

I felt I deserved a break this afternoon and watched Manchester United squeak by Arsenal in first round of the Champions semi-final. They really needed another goal, but at least they hung on for the win.

Actually, today's game was a bit disappointing after watching them crush Tottenham in the second half on Saturday. We dropped in at the Londoner for lunch just in time for the second half to start, and an enthusiastic crowd of mostly Utd supporters filled the place. The lone Tottenham supporter in our section left after United scored their third goal in the second half. (They were down 2-0 at the open of the half and went on to win 5-2.)

Ah, well.

I did do a little work on the laptop while watching the match, even though I should have just taken a full break away from the computer. Mostly, I had a few mainteance items to take care of. That, and I joined in the Twitter discussion going on during the game.

All in all, a low stress kind of day that was my most productive in terms of writing in quite some time. I needed that on several levels.

Now I just have to stay awake through tonight's bowling.
