Busy Week!

Fresh when it gets here from Julie Barrett

I wish I could show you some of the stuff I've been working on this week. Perhaps I'll be able to do so in the next couple of weeks.

Yesterday was ostensibly my day off. Ha, and ha. It was the first day of the fall bowling season, which means meetings before leagues. I found myself without a partner for the morning league. Two of our members from last year dropped out for work-related reasons, and the third dropped out due to an injury. I sort of figured they'd find me a spot, and they almost didn't. I think I'll be happy with the team I ended up on - if I can keep up with them. I guess I bring handicap, being the low bowler on the totem pole. I lie. The other new team member has the same handicap as me, but she generally carries a higher average. I had a good series: Each game was in the 190's. I can'g argue with that - especially on a 173 average.

I struggled against crappy lane conditions for most of the evening, but finally figured them out for the last game of last night's set for a 211. Too bad I couldn't do anything good to go along with it. Oh, well. we're out for fun, and not for blood. No one gets upset when another team member is having trouble. I like that. No pressure.

Today was more work, work, work.

Tomorrow - off to Dallas to buy parts for the dryer. First, Chris and I plan to have coffee somewhere. Then I have an audio play to work on. Meetings part of the weekend. Yeah, it never seems to stop. I am going to drop everything for the Cowboys game Sunday night. It's not that I'm an intense fan, but it's an excuse to walk away from the computer and get my mind on something else for a change. I can't argue with that.

We had a good time over dinner tonight. You know it's fun when things devolve into choruses of The Philosopher's Drinking Song. Just don't call me Bruce.
