The train is still a couple of hours behind due to speed restrictions on the line. However, we were treated to a nice sunrise over the Mississippi River from the dining car at breakfast. Lunch was short due to limited inventory. We hope this isn't a portent of things to come on the next train trip.
The train did make up an hour by the time we arrived in Chicago. We grabbed our bags, headed to the hotel, and took long showers. Showering on the train was a challenge.
Dinner was at Fado around the corner. It's a chain pub, but they had Guinness on tap and we were starving.
We walked down to the river to get our bearings and then went back to the hotel to crash.
