In the meantime, I've still been banging away at my computer. Lots of USB troubles - but it turns out that the devices may have been the problems rather than the motherboard. First my card reader went bonkers. I plugged it into my laptop - same problem. But once I unplugged the power supply from the wall and reconnected it, the problems went away. So far so good. Then the hard disk failed to be recognized. Flushed the BIOS cache and all was well. Then my keyboard died - but only a partial death. I could use the function and arrow keys fine in the BIOS, but the rest of the keyboard went out. I even tried it on another computer.

The handheld still isn't working. That's a problem for another day.

So things are getting back together. I'm using an old serial keyboard for now and I'll go exchange a part that I didn't need for a new keyboard. Oh, and speaking of cams, the CatCam sidebar gadget needs to be rebuilt. I lost it and we thought Chris had copy, but it turns out that he didn't. Oh, well.

So much fun. Not.
