I've not spent a lot of time on social media lately, and that's by design. I've put together a list of things to do, and doing them I am! So if I don't see your good or bad news, apologies.
On the chemo front, the neuropathy is starting in. The change in the weather hasn't helped. I always get cold hands/feet at this time of year, but nothing like this! I'm wearing fingerless gloves during the day and fuzzy socks to bed at night. Other than that, I'm doing pretty well. My next infusion is Tuesday, so we shall see.
My USB-powered hand warmers arrived today. Generally speaking, they're going to very useful as the weather cools. I'm going to take them with me to bowling on Wednesday and see if they help. I may not need them as the forecast is calling for a warm day, so the temp inside may be okay. I totally get that it's easier to cool down a large space and then let it warm up as it gets full with people rather than to try to cool down a warm space full of people. That was definitely the case last Wednesday. We're heading into the two weeks of Fall in North Texas, so temps will vary.
Sunday we took K-9 to The British Emporium for their fall event. We had a lot of fun, and I was pleased that I held out for the day.
The home automation project continues apace, with bonus home network issues. My job for the weekend is to figure out why two computers aren't showing up properly on the network. I'll spare you the geeky details. You're welcome! I did mange a Stupid Home Automation Trick: I can now scan an NFC tag and have the message spoken on the phone, meaning that it streams to my hearing aids. I have two nausea meds in bottles that look alike and have lots of fine print on the labels. One of them I can't take Tuesday - Friday of infusion week. The other I can take at any time. I like the idea of being able to scan a tag and be told what it is and how to know if I can take it. The next step is to have the app ask me if I want a reminder for a repeat dose in X hours.
Along with the network issues, one of my monitors kinda died. I thought it was the cable from the video card, and I ordered one to arrive this evening. Nope, not that. Surprisingly, we had a spare monitor in the garage that was the same size and specs. I guess it was the port on the back of the monitor. Glad I had a replacement on hand.
I'm working on other stupid and not so stupid tricks, too. Doing the stupid - but fun - tricks is how I learn.
Speaking of tricks, no one rang the doorbell tonight - not even the Amazon delivery driver. I guess we're going to have to eat the candy.
Life can be rough sometimes. ;-)
Y'all have a good weekend!
