Monday Photo Shoot

This week's topic: Blue Skies.

Picture some blue, blue skies. Wide stretches of blue are the goal here. Fluffy clouds are great, too -- but try to get the skies mostly blue. Interesting stuff in the foreground is groovy, too.

Some of the most gorgeous blue sky shots I have were taken at a New Orleans cemetery. That didn't seem to be the proper send-off for someone about to embark upon a book tour, so I offer two pictures from a city not on John Scalzi's tour: Dallas.

This is downtown Dallas. I liked this juxtaposition of the old and the new. Dallas has precious few old buildings left. (I'll spare you the rant on THAT topic. You're welcome.)

Later that day...

High FiveHigh Five Hosted on Zooomr

This is one small piece of the massive High Five interchange in North Dallas. (Here are some stats at Wikipedia, although they got it wrong: there are a couple of bits still under construction.)

Me, I stay off of the freeways as much as possible. I value my life. ;-)
