The Joys of Shopping Early

No, this isn't an article about Christmas shopping: It's about shopping for that Thanksgiving meal.
I hit the grocery store this afternoon, before people started getting off from work. There were quite a few people who, like me, were getting their shopping out of the way early, and a lot of employees stocking fresh veggies and restocking supplies of Thanksgiving staples.
List in hand, I hit the aisles.
I was home in under an hour, and did pretty well, considering. It was nice to not have to fight the crowds. Plus, I saved some money. The downside? I discovered a couple of things that weren't on the list. But what would the holidays be without a frantic trip to the store?
