What has dad so excited? Mom sees the plain brown wrapper and drops the dishes. Kid and Cat hang on for dear life as dad rushes into the kitchen. He's going fast - check out the streak marks and the gravity-defying hat.

Mom can rest assured that the presence of Cat and Kid means that the plain brown wrapper contains something for the entire family. Something absolutely wholesome yet utterly amazing.

With a tagline like that it's no wonder it arrived in a plain brown wrapper.

This must have been a sacrifice to the Mushy Brain Volcano god. Note how the rings of barely identifiable vegetables are arranged to form a gravity field around the - whatever that is in the center.

And you wonder why kids of my generation wouldn't eat their vegetables.

Behold the happy family at the Thanksgiving feast! Mom smiles bravely, having spent hours in the kitchen roasting an oversized bird she can barely tote to the table. Dad looks to be drugged out on tryptophan already. Or something. Should he be carving that bird? Notice that Sister has moved away from the table, as if ready to run when that turkey starts to fight back. Watch out for Junior! He's got scissors!

The holidays seem like a perfect time to update the Nostalgia section with new images from cookbooks.

Nothing says "Happy Thanksgiving" like a pottery cornucopia full of wilted flowers.

I think I saw one of those cones on a Star Trek episode the other night.
