Terms and Conditions for posting comments

Updated 7/26/2008

Please be respectful. This is the equivalent of attending a social gathering at someone's house. House rules apply.

Comments that are abusive or contain excessive profanity will not be allowed. A give and take is fine, but uncivil posts will be deleted.

Sometimes posts are screened before they get posted. Don't take this the wrong way. At this point it's an "all or none" kind of thing. If we have to turn screening on, we'll note it on the comments form.

We collect your IP address when you send a comment. This will only be used for two purposes: In the event that we have to file an abuse report with your ISP, and for troubleshooting. In other words if you follow the rules, we don't care about your IP address. If you spam or if you are continually rude and/or abusive and leave foul language, an abuse report will be filed. We may also use your IP address for tracking down technical problems, but for this purpose we do not disclose it to third parties.

Beyond IP addresses, we do not collect any other information than what you give us. Your name and URL will be posted when your comment is posted. We will cooperate with law enforcement agencies when necessary, and this means we may have to turn your information over in the course of an investigation. Not that we ever expect this to happen, but we're just trying to cover our bases.

Submitting a comment constitutes permission to post. If you want to give private feedback, please use the feedback address below.

Spamming is NOT tolerated, nor is commercial advertising. You may list a site as a reference and you may link to your web site using the URL field. If in doubt, ask. The address is feedback - at - barrettmanor - dot- com. Replace the - at - with @ and the - dot - with a period.

Thanks for trying out the comments engine. If you experience a problem, please report to the address above.
