UFO Mystery solved.

It was an electrocuted cat. Would I make this up?

Will the Powerpuff Girls be far behind?

I´m glad to know that Optimus Prime is defending our country.

Here we go

Well, it has started. I honestly don´t know what to say at this point. Simply staying tuned to the news...

A sobering experience

The previous blog from the back of the bus was en-route to the Dallas Holocaust Memorial Center. While the timing of this trip is certainly interesting given world events, it had actually been planned months ago. The visit was planned to coincide with the reading of "The Diary of Anne Frank" as part of the 8th grade curriculum.

By the end of the tour, they had lapsed into stunned silence.

I am sitting in the back of a school bus, playing chaperone,

Yes, even Japanese movie monsters have a place in worship.

Oh, Never mind

Now the Jerusalem Post has backed off, saying only that the US and other agencies are closing in on bin Laden.

D´ya think...?

According to Jerusalem Post story linked by Matt Drudge today, Osma bin Laden has been captured, and President Bush will make the announcement tonight at his press conference. The White House, of course, has denied the story. Honestly, could a story this hot be kept under wraps? Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Under the new Homeland Security Act, model rocket fuel is classified as an explosive. This means that people who handle it will have to undergo background checks. This could kill the hobby of model rocketry.

Sad day in the neighborhood

Sad news on the passing of Fred Rogers, better known as "Mister Rogers" of PBS kid show fame. The neighborhood won´t be the same, will it?

Sorry about the downtime

Our ISP moved us to another server, which messed up some of the coding on this page. It is fixed now. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Not a very good blogger, am I?

Well, I never promised a constantly updated page, did I?

Life at the Manor has been...interesting lately. The big news here, of course, is the breakup of the shuttle Challenger over Texas. We first heard sirens, then the boom, then more sirens. An apartment complex down the street from us had caught fire. We now know that the fire began before the shuttle passed overhead, and the cause seems to have been electrical. There have been reports of debris sitings in our city, but at this point the authorities are still investigating.

In the CD player

I bought Paul McCartney´s Back in the USA CD set a few weeks back, and am finally able to listen to it. I´m loving it! Some of the new arrangements leave a little to be desired, but overall, it is very enjoyable.

Not updating much, am I?

Sorry about this. Life is getting in the way. We had snow over the weekend. Just a dusting, which goes to show why Dallas is not the ski capital of North America.

Here´s one of the best articles I´ve seen in a long time on the topic of school bullying. The article is geared mostly to school administartors, but it has some good strategies for parents as well.
