The Big Melt

Fresh (almost) daily from Julie Barrett

The temperature on the front porch thermometer just now hit 32F, so I think we'll get some sustained temperatures above freezing today. At any rate, we're seeing sunshine for the first time in days, and that's contributing to substantial ice melt. Paul ventured to the office today, and after the lunch hour I plan to go out and grab a few food items.

Pictures, of course!

Icicles on the patio. Those things look dangerous. And, in fact, on Sunday Plano's 911 department sent out a recorded message to everyone to remind them to be careful of falling icicles and sheets of ice as the thaw starts.

This is the view out the kitchen window. It's going to take a few days for all this to thaw. High today is expected to be about 35F, but should hit 44F tomorrow after another overnight freeze. Be careful out there!
