Publishing Myths: Lies, I Tell You!

(Note: Stupid me, I hit the delete button and lost this entry. Here is is, reproduced. And if you want to see the "cover art," look here. And comments are here.)

Last night I finally made it to the end of my novel. It's been a long road, and I wish to thank everyone for their support. I put my heart and soul into this manuscript over the last two weeks, and I'm thrilled to report that I've already found a publisher that's willing to give it the chance it deserves. And on the heels of that success, I'm pleased to report that I've found a agent who will represent me for only ten percent. I sent him $300 by PayPal this morning along with a signed contract.

I know. I feel bad about having lied to you all these weeks about how the publishing business works. I was wrong, wrong, wrong.

After I send the page proofs back next week I'll have a publication date. If I'm lucky I'll have cover art before the day is over, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. At any rate, I'll be sending all of you information on how you can purchase copies.

Now if you'll pardon me, I have to run down to Kinko's for my order of bookmarks and flyers. The sign shop has the magnetic sign for the truck almost ready, and I'll be placing the order for M&M's with the title of my book later on today.

Again, thank you all for your support, and I hope you're not too upset over all the misleading information I've posted here over the last few weeks.

Update: Yes, this was a joke.
