1. Open the unpaid invoice file.
2. Scream in agony at the date on the oldest invoice.
3. Visit the Post Office, open the box and utter a silent expletive when said box is empty.
4. Return to the home office and compose a nasty letter to the client.
5. Delete the letter.
6. Compose a polite, yet firm note. Fax the note along with the stack of unpaid invoices to the client. Threaten to hold out on further work until payment is rendered.
7. Do the work anyway because you need the money.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
